+ What type of businesses are your Fractional CMO services best for?

There are three scenarios that Fractional CMO services are best for:

  1. High-growth businesses with a marketing team (5+ people including full time staff or contractors), or the budget to hire executional support. You're not ready for a full time CMO (you either don't have the budget or the work to justify it), but you know that you require that level of expertise to guide your strategy and team.
  1. Your company needs a temporary marketing leader while you hire a permanant VP of Marketing or CMO role.
  1. You want a full-time in-house marketing team but either don't have the time to build one out yourself, or you'd prefer to have an experienced marketing leader define and hire key roles.

+ What budget do I need to hire a Fractional CMO?

Most of my clients have a marketing budget of $1M+ per year, in addition to their team costs. Clients who are smaller than that may be a fit for our Strategy Intensives or Coaching Programs.

+ What are your fees and how does invoicing work?

My fees vary depending on the client and their individual needs. For more detailes on my services please get in touch. Invoices are paid monthly in advance of the work starting.

+ What if I don't have a marketing team?

I'll help you build out a team based on the marketing activities that are needed. We'll craft job descriptions and hire for in-house positions, or identify agency and freelance partners to fill immediate voids. I have extensive experience hiring for various marketing and technical roles both in a full time or contractor basis.

+ What industries do you work with?

I specialize in high-growth e-commerce brands, or businesses with a subscription model. I have a deep expertise in fitness, health, wellness, fashion, home, beauty, and travel. I do work outside of those industries from time-to-time if there is a great fit.

+ What does Fractional mean?

Fractional means that you get the 'right-for-you' level of CMO services based on your company size, goals and budget. Then, the rest of your resources are available for tactical support and executional needs.

+ How and when do I work?

I work on your business part time, but I am available via email, Slack, or Loom anytime. If you are located in Kelowna, the Okanagan, or Vancouver I may come to your office periodically to work, otherwise we'll set up remote communications (Slack, Zoom, Loom, email).

+ What are the benefits of a Fractional CMO?

  1. Cost savings: The fractional framework adds C-suite level experience and perspective to your team, without the comp package that accompanies a full time senior leadership role. The average salary of CMOs in New York and the Silicon Valley is $251,000. In Canada, the average is $176,000. And, this is before benefits, options and perks. Hiring a fractional CMO gives you the benefit from having an executive level marketing expert at fraction of the cost.
  1. Strategic Spend: Many companies spend a large portion of their spend hiring someone senior on a full-time basis to do their marketing strategy, only to have that person spend 80% of their time executing. If your marketing leader is posting to social media, writing copy, or desinging graphics - you've got an overpaid marketing coordinator on your team. By strategically breaking up your spend you can have both a marketing leader, and a marketing executor (or many) and only pay what you should be paying.
